Surgical Direct Inc
Overview:
At Surgical Direct, we’re changing the way cataract surgery happens—making every surgery day smoother, faster, and easier for surgeons and OR teams alike. We’re looking for a highly motivated Surgical Coordinator (or Cataract Coordinator) to join our growing team. If you’re dependable, detail-oriented, and love the idea of supporting clinical excellence behind the scenes, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Do:
As a Surgical Coordinator, you’ll be the backbone of our on-site cataract support. You’ll deliver, set up, and manage cataract-specific surgical equipment and supplies, and do all you can to ensure everything runs like clockwork on surgery day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport, set up, and break down phacoemulsification systems, microscopes, and other surgical equipment at partnered facilities (accounts)
- Ensure all case-specific supplies are packed and ready for use (including backup supplies if needed)
- Provide hands-on technical support during procedures (equipment priming, setting adjustments, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Maintain clear and effective communication with surgeons, OR teams, and the Surgical Direct operations team
- Act as a trusted point of contact and representative of our company on-site
- Follow sterilization, safety, and compliance protocols
Who You Are:
- Reliable, punctual, and organized—surgery doesn’t start without you
- High Attention to detail with the ability to stay focused
- Collaborative – you work well within a team environment and think of others
- Comfortable working in clinical environments (OR/hospital/ASC settings)
- Self-starter who thrives on problem-solving and anticipating needs
- Excellent communicator with a strong sense of customer service
- Able to lift and transport equipment (50–75 lbs), with a clean driving record
- Willing to travel locally or regionally with flexible scheduling
- Early Mornings don’t bother you (seriously…we’re talking 4am sometimes)
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Prior experience in ophthalmology or surgical environments
- Familiarity with phaco systems, surgical equipment, or medical devices
- A background in sterile processing or surgical tech support
Training:
Never been in a surgical environment before? That is OK! We provide an in-house 90-day training, where we will train you on everything you need to know about the position, the equipment, and the protocols you need to follow when working in a surgical environment. Our entire team goes through annual training with vendors, aeseptic techniques, safety regulations, and more (all covered).
Benefits:
- Full-time salary at part-time schedule (12-13 days per month)
- Quarterly Bonus Opportunities (based on performance)
- We offer health, vision, and dental insurance
- We offer a matching 401K plan
- Remarkable service-oriented team environment
- Great Culture and team-mates! (we’re a fun bunch)

We’re a fast-growing team on a mission to simplify cataract surgery logistics for healthcare facilities nationwide. You’ll play a vital role in creating better surgery days—for everyone involved. We offer full training, competitive pay, opportunities for advancement, and a killer annual work party!
